DESCRIPTION OF LIME ESSENTIAL OIL

Lime Essential Oil is extracted from the Peels of Citrus Aurantifolia or Lime through the method of Steam Distillation. Lime is a world known fruit and is native to Southeast Asia and South Asia, it is now grown all around the world with slightly different variety. It belongs to the family of Rutaceae and it is an evergreen tree. Parts of Lime are used in many forms, from cooking to medicinal purposes. It is a great source of Vitamin C and can provide 60 to 80 percent of daily recommended amount of Vitamin C. Lime Leaves are used in making teas and home decorations, Lime juice is used in cooking and making drinks and its rinds are added to bakery products for a bitter sweet taste. It is very popularly used in Southeast India to make pickles and flavour drinks.  

Lime Essential Oil has a sweet, fruity and citrusy scent, which creates fresh, energising feeling. That is why it is popular in Aromatherapy to treat Anxiety and Depression. USES OF LIME ESSENTIAL OIL

It is also used in making anti-scar creams and marks lightening gels. Its astringent properties and richness of anti-oxidants are used in making anti-ageing creams and treatments.

Hair care products: It has been used for hair care in India, since a very long time. Lime Essential oil is added to hair oils and shampoos for dandruff care and prevent itchy scalp. It is very famous in the cosmetic industry, and it also makes hair stronger and shinier.
