Do you have violets planted in your gardens? Or maybe you just have wild violets that are blooming in your yard? Did you know that violets are used as something other than just being a pretty flower? They are! Violets are turned into something called Violet Oil, or some even call it Violet Essential Oil. Violet Oil has many uses that have been used through out history including therapeutic uses for pain, headaches, as an expectorant, insomnia, stress and more.

One of the most common ways to use Violet Oil is by inhaling it. This can be done by either using an oil diffuser  or placing a few drops of Violet Oil into pot with some water and heating it on the stove.

Nowadays you do not have to make your own Violet Oil from scratch as it is available for commercial purchase at many venues such as as health food stores or even online at places such as Amazon.

Here are five great uses for Violet Oil:

Pain Reliever: Apply 4-5 drops to a moist warm compress and place over the aching muscle or joint. Reapply as needed.

Inflammation: Massage a few drops into the inflamed area. Repeat 3-4 times a day as needed.

Headache: Put a few drops in an oil diffuser  or burner and have a seat near it. You can also use a pot of boiling water with a few drops of violet oil in it. Relax and breath normal and the headache will ease up.

Insomnia: Place a few drops in your oil diffuser  and have it on in the room when you sleep.

Bee Stings: Mix 1 drop violet oil and 1 tablespoon white vinegar. Soak a small cloth or cotton ball in the mixture. Then place on bee sting until pain subsides.

Have you used Violet Oil before? If you are a Violet Oil user, in what other ways do you use it/find it useful?
